Trix is one of the oldest names in German model railways, now operating as Märklin's two-rail DC brand. This arrangement allows modelers who prefer standard DC/DCC operation to access Märklin's renowned toolings and quality without the three-rail AC system. Trix H0 models share the same bodies and mechanisms as Märklin but use standard NEM wheel profiles and two-rail pickup. The brand also produces an N scale range (Minitrix) with similar sharing of toolings with Märklin Z in some cases. Trix is popular with modelers who want German quality with universal compatibility.
