A track arrangement where a train can turn around, requiring special wiring to prevent short circuits.
A reverse loop (or reversing section) is any track arrangement that allows a train to turn around, such as a balloon track, wye, or turntable. These create a polarity conflict where the rails change polarity. Without proper wiring, a short circuit occurs when entering or exiting. Auto-reversers automatically flip track polarity as needed.
