Building Control Panels in PanelPro
PanelPro lets you create virtual control panels that display and control your layout from a computer screen.
Panel Types
- **Panel Editor:** Freeform design with any images
- **Layout Editor:** Track-based with automatic block detection
- **Control Panel Editor:** CTC-style with standardized elements
Creating Your First Panel
- Open PanelPro
- Go to Panels → New Panel → Layout Editor
- Set your grid size and background color
- Begin drawing track using the toolbar
Adding Turnouts
- Define turnouts in Tables → Turnouts
- Right-click on the panel where the turnout goes
- Select "Add Turnout"
- Enter the turnout address
- Click the turnout symbol to throw it
Adding Signals
- Define signals in Tables → Signals
- Add signal heads or masts to your panel
- Configure signal logic (Simple Signal Logic or Signal Mast Logic)
- Signals will respond to block occupancy automatically
Block Detection Integration
- Create blocks in Tables → Blocks
- Assign occupancy sensors to blocks
- Configure blocks on your panel
- Track segments change color when occupied
Advanced Features
- **Routes:** Throw multiple turnouts with one click
- **Logix:** Create complex automation rules
- **Scripting:** Write Python scripts for custom behavior
- **Web Access:** Control panels from tablets and phones
