RTR (Ready-to-Run)

A completed model requiring no assembly, ready to operate from the box.

Full Definition

Ready-to-run models come fully assembled and decorated, requiring no construction beyond perhaps installing couplers or accessories. Most locomotives and much rolling stock is sold RTR today. This contrasts with kits that require assembly. RTR quality ranges from basic train set models to highly detailed premium products.
