Wiring Steps

Calculate resistor value: R = (Vsupply - Vled) / Iled

For 12V supply and typical LED (2V, 20mA): R = (12-2)/0.02 = 500Ω, use 470Ω

Connect resistor to positive supply

Connect LED anode (longer leg) to resistor

Connect LED cathode (shorter leg) to ground

Test before final installation

Tips for Success

Warm white LEDs (2700-3000K) look most realistic for buildings
Use flicker LEDs for fireplaces and candle effects
Series-wire multiple LEDs to reduce resistor count
Add a master switch to control all lighting
